Connecticut’s residents who are facing foreclosure on their homes may call (877) 472-8313 toll-free and receive advice and guidance regarding their mortgage problems.

Foreclosure Prevention Help From Attorneys - The Connecticut Fair Housing Center's pro bono network of attorneys is accepting referrals. If you have clients who are delinquent on their mortgage payments or who have received a foreclosure notice, they can call Statewide Legal Services at 1-800-453-3320. The Center and Statewide Legal Services will find these clients attorneys who will provide legal assistance free of charge.

Housing Fairs in Connecticut - CHFA and HUD will be hosting housing fairs throughout the state in the next two months to explain programs that may help owners facing mortgage problems. At these fairs, participants can learn about the CT FAMLIES program and other refinancing programs, attend a loan counseling session, and meet with loan counselors. The first fair will take place in Norwich Friday, March 28, 2008 from 2 to 8 pm and Saturday, March 29, 2008 from 9 am to 1 pm. It will be held at the Norwich Holiday Inn. Click here to view a flyer. Upcoming dates are as follows: March 28 & 29 - Norwich - Holiday Inn, April 11 & 12 - Waterbury - Holiday Inn, April 25 & 26 - Hartford - CT Convention Center, May 16 & 17 - Bridgeport - Holiday Inn and May 30 & 31 - New Haven - Omni Hotel at Yale.
